Kakumiro: Police in Kakumiro are looking for two suspects in the death of a 26-year-old man on suspicion of stealing a drum.
The deceased was identified as Ivan Tumubwine, a resident of Kihumuro cell, Nyamirungi ward, Kisita town council, and Kikumiro district, by Albertine Region Police Spokesperson ASP Julius Allan Hakiza.
According to Hakiza, the deceased was beaten to death by two suspects only identified as Denis and Swaleh, who all shared a cell.
According to the regional police press release, the deceased is accused of stealing Denis’s radio and then stealing a drum on Sunday.
”It is claimed that the deceased stole Denis’s radio, and on Sunday they caught him stealing a drum, prompting them to kill him,” he said.
The officer stated that a manhunt for two suspects who are currently at large has begun.
”We have launched a manhunt for two suspects, Denis and Swaleh, who are currently at large,” he said.
